Someone might have suggested this before, but a quick search didn't turn anything up, so my apologies if this is an old horse under a new blanket.

What about carrying replacement saddles for tune-o-matic bridges that are the correct radius for the compound radius necks that Warmoth sells?  It seems like a fairly easy job for a good machinist.  They could be a big seller to people who are using tune-o-matics with standard Warmoth compound radius necks, and might even be a cheaper option than paying a good luthier the labor cost of filing the standard saddles to fit.

Yea!  that is a good idea!  Only one type of TOM would need to be offered IMHO, which would keep warmoth's costs for this manageable.

A good idea, I agree. Still, filing your own isn't that hard and only requires a $3 file from the hardware store.

how do you set the radius for the saddles anyway ?
isn't it prefixed ?
can you file a 12" radius to 16" ?

No, you file the whole top of it with a triangular file (a little!) then use a .010 nut file to re-notch the slots. You're talking about a near-microscopic difference in any case.

yeah i just compared the 16" and 12"
seems the only difference is like between 0.01" and 0.02".
that's not something that big, woulden't make any noticeable difference in playing i guess.

I think it's noticeable but not huge when playing, the D and G strings are a bit high. Worth it to just flatten it out a touch, even if you don't go all the way to 18".
