I may order some parts tonight. Some things I think I'll look for:
Yellowish barrel style switch tip. Something this color:

I will also order Flattop tele knobs and dome top tele knobs in the future.

I don't think I'll order the pickups until later, just so I can obsess about them more, and won't get compelled to do anything crazy. I may use the BBQ instead of the Genuine Texas. Encourage or discourage me, please.

Obtained parts:
Neck:
Birdseye maple
Total Vintage
49 roundback
7.5" radius
11 1/16 nut
6150 frets

Wow, Max!  That thing should kick all kinds of butt.  I have a Rio Genuine Texas Humbucker, and while I love it's tone, I think it lacks just ever so slightly in output.  I took some advice from here on the forum when I was trying to find a humbucker match to my Lollar P-90, and I had a really hard time matching their volumes.  I will be changing it out some day for something with just a hair more oomph.  I don't know too much about the output of the Dirty Harry, but consider this my only warning about the Genuine Texas.  It is an awesome sounding hum, and I will use it elsewhere, it is just not the perfect match to the P-90.  Can't wait to see this one finished!

Sounds like an ars kicker for sure...  Ya already have a sweet body and neck to build on.  Don't think ya could go wrong  :icon_thumright: :icon_thumright: :icon_thumright:

I have the Texas BBQ set in my V [BBQ Bucker Bridge & Genuine Texas Neck]
When I first start playing them, I really liked the Genuine Texas.
However, the more I play them, I am really diggin' the BBQ Bucker more and more.
I think it would be a better tele pickup than the Genuine Texas.  However, that's just me thinking again and I usually get in trouble when I start doing that sort of thang...

Good luck and be keep those pics a rollin'

is your maple neck going to have a finish this time? I'd hate to see that beauty get dirty.

The neck has gloss lacquer on the fretboard and whole headstock and the back is a hand rubbed oil finish that feels like glass.

Awesome!

BBQ it is!
I ordered a good chunk of the parts last night.

Tuners, Bell knobs, position indicators, string retainer from Stew-Mac
280k Superpot, 250k pot, and Les Paul Special jackplate from RS Guitarworks

Looks like my RS Guitarworks stuff should be here the day after tomorrow.

And just a few minutes ago, I ordered some stuff from Warmoth.
3-way switch, short humbucker mounting ring (black), guitar string ferrules, mono switchcraft jack, strap buttons (chrome), neck screws, pickguard screws (chrome) , neck plate (chrome)

A nice cup of black coffee can do wonders for, "aging," white parts.  It is sort of a toss up with plastic since there are so many types.

I thought about that. I may get two tips, and try that.

And Hannaugh... that's brilliant.

this makes me eager to see the world's first fully functional guitar made out of legos

Um... I think it exists.  Wasn't there a thread with a link to a thread on another forum where a guy did that?  I know there is a functional Lego harpsichord.  It sounds like crap, but it still works.  http://musicthing.blogspot.com/2005/05/lego-harpsichord.html
