Three Mustang suggestions

Like the Mustang in this picture:

it would be nice to have the options of having

1. a route for a toggle switch in the lower horn (top or rear routed channel?)

2. specific pickup routes so as to not having to use a pickguard

3. other hardtail bridge options beside the Toronado (standard american flat mount bridge or perhaps TOM/STOP?).

I'm not really interested in a Mustang, but it does seem like they'd sell a lot more of them if different bridge arrangements were available.  The traditional Mustang bridge leaves a lot to be desired.

Then let's hope that more members here give this thread a "Like" and that Warmoth notices it. I'm keeping my fingers crossed.  :occasion14:

Actually, now that I think about it, I'm pretty sure most contemporary vibrato-style bridges wouldn't work, which is probably why they're not offered. Mustang bodies are only 1.5" thick, so you'd be limited to vibratos that don't use rear springs such as the original Mustang style, a Kahler or a Bigsby. Everything else barely fits in a 1.75" thick body. Warmoth will do a Kahler rout for an upcharge, but doesn't offer the Bigsby drill pattern for any of the bodies they sell.

Hence my third suggestion being more hardtail bridge options.  :icon_thumright:

(I personally am not interested in vibrato bridges anymore. Been there, done that.)

Ok. I forgot about the qualifier.

I don't know why I include as many vibratos as I do. I rarely use them, and they invariably make life more difficult. I guess it's one of those "rather have it and not need it than need it and not have it" things.

Awesome!

Some more tips: Make more options for 24" scale necks. Like, can we get a Thin-U shape, a la ESP?

Also, it'd be great to have finish options for the body when matched with a laminate top.

And of course, chambering options!

I definitely agree with what you're saying. I'm entertained by the idea of the 24" scale length that the mustang has (but don't really think it would suit the body style of a strat or tele 7/8) and maybe 2 P90's or HS without a pickguard. As well as the hardtail makes me really interested in a Mustang.

Nothing at all is wrong with that! It's a beauty of a guitar. But personally I just prefer the mustang neck with a mustang body.

You mean because of the scale length? Because looking at my guitar I think it's impossible to tell this Mustang neck apart from a regular Strat neck. Now if you placed a regular sized Strat next to this, you would obviously see the difference ...  :occasion14:

Yeah, I'm not sure where I was going to with that besides that I like Mustangs, and I definitely like your strat.

I've actually not been that big of a fan of Mustangs before, but nevertheless, my next build might very well be a Mustang!
:o
(Maybe it's something about this forum that brings out hidden desires and such)
