I saw this guitar on ebay

http://www.ebay.com/itm/330676011466?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1497.l2649#ht_1009wt_1113

I liked it and decided to ask the seller to close the ebay-bidding and deal with me off ebay. I'd give him 1350$ for the guitar, without shipping, and we'd both be happy. He kindly though solidly refused my offer. I said to him 'it won't get above 1250$, if you're lucky! And I have seen my share of warmoth les pauls on ebay!'. Unfortunately, I was right! I bid on the guitar, up to 1350$, expecting that if I were to be outbid, I'd laugh about it. If i were NOT to be outbid I'd have a nice guitar. Well, all I can say is: I won. literally. The guitar ended at 1185$, and now i have to pay, haha. So I have got 2 new guitars within 24 hours. Could be worse.

Good job on saving a couple hundred dollars.
You should print off that listing so you can show proof of your 7A+++ top  :icon_jokercolor:

haha perhaps I should ;) If it were GIBSON I'm SURE they'd call it 7A grade. but hey, screw 'm.

Great grab, I saw that one. The rate you're going, the US's chief export this year may be "Electric guitars sold to Orpheo"  :glasses10:

Incidentally, the seller says TonePros bridges are "required with Warmoth bodies"? Should I look over my warranty again?

And I agree, 7A's and THREE +'s for less than $1200US is a steal...  :icon_biggrin:

It's a steal anyway ;) nice top, very vintagey vibe... I like! I have switched almost all my guitars from high output pickups to lower output pickups. I just have 6 guitars with high output pickups. 6 out of 27 guitars!!  (soon to be 7 out of 29 though)!

You can ship this one to me too, if you like. That being said... you won't get it back for a while. But hey... I'll keep it for you if you want.  :icon_thumright:

Nice grab Orpheo!

haha no, this one will go straight home. I'm a les paul-man...this is guitar #29 and warmoth LP #18 and warmoth # 19 (the strat I bought is warmoth #18)

and do you wanna know the funniest part? I placed the bid, expecting to be overbid somewhere along the line. My maximum bid wasn't OVERbid for more than 2 days! I was having a GREAT time with my brand new girlfriend when I got the email.I didn't even care for the email (I usually read emails right away) and only 12 hours later I bothered to read it.

If it were a Gibson, they wouldn't bother with bogus grades, they'd just call it "unobtainium" from deepinahearta Africa and charge $35K for it.

I'm amazed you got it for so cheap, considering it has the expensive "59 roundback" option.  :tard:

mock all you want, it is more expensive than the fat back, boat or standard thin neckshape.

Egg on my little tongue face :icon_tongue:, you're right. For some reason I always thought that was a standard shape with no upcharge.

I'm seriously digging this guitar the more I look at it. This is coming from me, the single coil six-point trem guy.

Seriously glad you got this and not someone else. Wish you could got it for like $500 though.

At least around here, they sell more 59 roundbacks than they do standard thins = maybe some day, they'll start charging more for standard. Or - gadzooks - less for options! I could see the argument that a 59 roundback needs a larger starting blank - but so does a (no-charge) fatback. :icon_scratch:
