Those lines show a relief. They arent' drawn on: they're burned into the timber, likely with a soldering iron or similar.

THE NECK CAME WITH A SLIGHT FIGURE TO THE WOOD, I THEN USED A WOODBURNER TO CREATE THE MOST EXTREME FLAME-LIKE FIGURE I COULD CREATE (SO BEFORE ANYBODY ASKS ME "WHY WOULD YOU DO THAT?"), I WOULD LIKE TO SAY I HAVE DONE THIS ON SEVERAL NECKS THAT I HAVE SOLD LOCALLY, AND EVERYONE HAS LOVED THEM, IT CREATES A COOL ARTISTIC FEEL THAT SETS IT APART - ESPECIALLY VISUALLY. IF YOU WERE TO TRY AND FIND A NECK THIS FIGURED NATURALLY - IT WOULD BE WELL OVER $1000 DOLLARS!

Yeah, burning lines into wood is not the same as having curl in the figuring. Real curl has chatoyancy and depth. This thing just has burn marks.

And what's confusing is why he would try to replicate curl in a species of wood that rarely has curl. :icon_scratch:
