The new V has arrived!!

Hey DslDwg,
I promise, as soon as I get this put together I'll give you an update on how the P-Rails sound.  I'm curious too.  Are you using the Triple Shots too?

I don't normally go for any of the gibson 'Jetsons' guitars, but that is sweet.

:dontknow:  Geez Sustainerplayer . . . I appreciate your comment, but at 2:30 in the morning!!??  I hope you were up that late (early?) playing the hell out of some awesome guitar.  Rock on!

Lol - I am from Denmark GMT+1  :icon_biggrin:

But I'm doing fine guitar-wise  :headbang:

Hi graceshreder

Thats a beauty you have there !  :icon_biggrin:

I'm just starting a V shape also (always wanted one as-well) my 1st guitar build.....got 5 other guitars.

Mine is Zebra on Mahogany, doing own finish in Lemon Yellow Shellac, with a Maple neck, finished in Vintage Tint Satin Nitro,
using Sperzel Locking Tuners, with a Recessed Wilkinson Tremolo, Seymour Duncan 59' model (neck) & DimeBucker (bridge)
also using SD Triple Shots. I Might even toss a Roland GK-3 on it.

Just had to lower bridge cavity a touch (Dremel Tool) so as to fit in the Hum & Triple shots all wired up....may-be didn't need to, but did.
Was ordered with Toggle hole.....but didn't come as ordered.....No drama's did myself, with scans from Warmoth.

I have one question for you thou....

Are you putting on a 'rubber slip stop' on the side of the V ?
You probably aren't as yours has a finish already !

I can't find the right stuff to use......But I thought of using 'Emery Paper' if I decide it needs it......Just like on skateboards  :glasses10:
Grips better than any rubber I've seen.

All the best to ya

Hello Updown,
Wow, that V sounds like it's going to be beautiful.  Are you posting any pics in the 'work in progress' section?  ??? You'd better!!  I also think it's really cool you're using a maple neck like I did.  It is very rare and it really looks sharp.  Triple Shots too? Sweet.  Mine work perfectly.
About the non slip pad.  No, I did not put one on my V.  I've seen them on Gibsons, but have never had the opportunity to sit down and try one.  I did not want to "obstruct" any of the beauty of the woods and finish I chose for the guitar, so I did not even consider one.  That said however, I quickly discovered I would need to wear a strap every time I played it.  That system works great and keeps the V exactly where I want it.  Be very 'selective' when you decide where to drill the hole for your strap to attach to.  The farther out toward the back of the 'wing' you go, the more angle the neck has as it hangs on your shoulder.  Get it where you want it!  If you want the neck to be more parallel with the floor, move the button toward the body . . . for a more 'upward angled' neck, move the button out toward the tip of the wing.  Good luck!  Now let's see some pics!!!  :rock-on:
