After a month of waiting, my neck has finally been shipped as of yesterday and will be here tomorrow! :toothy10:

But first things first. I'm planning a complete overhaul on my Swirl Tele I got a few months back.

It plays and sounds great, I'm just suiting it more to my style.

So heres the planned specs:

Warmoth Pro Construction
Neck Wood: Goncalo Alves
Fingerboard Wood: Figured Zircote
Nut Width: 1-3/4"
Back Shape: Standard thin
Fret Size: SS6105 (Stainless)
Tuner Ream: Sperzel
Radius: 10-16" Compound
Fret #: 21
Pre-Cut Installed String Nut: GraphTech Black TUSQ XL Standard
Inlays: No Inlay
Side Dots: White Side Dots

Tuners: Sperzel Trim-lok in Black or Chrome (Depending on how the neck looks)
Hardware may be changed to black depending on this ^

White Pearl Pickguard
Neck Pickup: Either a Bare Knuckle Mississippi Queen HB sized P90 or VHII (Brushed Nickel or Chrome for the P90, White Open Coil for VHII)
Bridge Pickup: Bare Knuckle Juggernaut (White Open Coils)
Bridge: Hipshot Fixed Bridge
Upgrading Pots to 500k with Push-Pull

Neck will be Burnished as well.

That is gonna be one super-sweet neck!

You're probably gonna fall so deeply in love with it that you'll be afraid to take it out of the house for fear of loss or damage.

Delivery Day! :hello2:

I couldn't be happier! :toothy10: :toothy10: I can't wait to hear it!!
I'll probably go out and buy the tuners today (going with black) as well as buy the sand paper to burnish it, if time allows.

The shipping boxes used to be a lot nicer. Originally I thought that I got a triangle box because I ordered a funky, overly-large Mooncaster headstock neck recently... but I guess not!

I can't speak on how they used to be, cause I've only used Warmoth since February last year. But of the 3 neck I've ordered since then, they've all had the same packaging. Haven't had any issues so far. But for all I know, you could be right.

Strat and Tele necks I have gotten as early as 2005 came in the rectangular box as pictured. It may have been to the type of neck.

It may look like a rectangle, but it only has three sides (plus the two triangular ends) thus "triangle" box. The older boxes had four sides, in which the necks fit snuggly and didn't require wrapping the neck in foam sheeting.

I'm completely fine with the triangle boxes. It works perfect for re-shipping necks and fitting extra stuff like strings in the box as well. Plus they're always delivered safely.

I understand, no worries :icon_biggrin: and thank you!
I just sanded it up to 1200 and I can easily say I'm in love!!

Awesome rebuild, I love goncalo, and ziricote is just the tits to me as for a fretboard. :headbang1:

Thanks! Agreed, I absolutely love this combo! Both visually and tonally. After seeing how Cagey talks about it, I've gotta try out Ebony on Pau Ferro. I also wanna try a Bubinga neck at some point. But it's gonna be hard for me to sway from this combo! :toothy12:

Just my meaningless 2 cents, but I think that gorgeous neck would look better on a guitar than it does on a bowling ball...although I have to admit--that IS a really cool bowling ball!  :icon_jokercolor:

Hahaha thanks. It's definitely not my ideal look, but tonally it's on the right track! Hopefully my bowling ball on a stick will stay in the right lane :laughing7:

After too long of a wait, there's finally an update!

First off, the guitar finally has tuners (Well, HAS had for a good while now, I was just to lazy to post it)

It plays and sounds AMAZING, has a much warmer and smoother tone.

And great news has come this morning straight off the truck :blob7:

A fresh set of Bare Knuckle Juggernauts!!! :toothy10:

Now all that's left is:
White Pearl Pickguard
Hipshot Tuners (long story)
Hipshot Fixed Bridge

Now I need some help.
I'm a bit stuck, should I go with chrome or black for the bridge?
