Nice work. Most bare bone telecaster I ever saw.  :icon_biggrin:

Now you may be on to something there - play while you eat.

Today's progress.

SANDING KOA ENDGRAIN AND ME ARE NOT FRIENDS.

And the deep burning with the router... worse than Cherry. So much sanding. All the other ones went fine... Maybe I just need to sharpen my bit.

But the results are nice. Could never tell it's not bookmatched!

edit: added the bit about the burn. oh the burn. the burn!

So I was looking for a warmoth headstock neck for my dad's SE One.

Ebony board, so as not to compete with the Koa.

Yesterday these three came up:

So my dad bought this one:

Things are coming along!

PRS SE One? AFAIK they use a different scale, as well as usually being set necks and/or having completely different neck pockets.
Here's a new Korina SE One backshot.

If you're sure they'll work I'd go with the Imbuia.  While I usually think it looks funny on 6 in line headstocks it just seems to work with the 3x3.

I just copied the body shape (see the Koa body above). Advantage of making your own is that you can  Make it work with any scale.

My dad already bought the bubinga, so solves that. I also liked the imbuia though...

Ah yes. I apologize for posting whilst tired. I didn't scroll up at all. I just read that one post and my internal "oh no!" alarm went off and posting commenced.

Yeah sorry. Life has been absolutely crazy, and non essentials are on hold.

Feel free to skip the explanation below.

Our landlord decided not to renew our lease so we decided to buy a (different) house. That took some work. We're trying to get the basement finished (that takes a lot of work).
Simultaneously I'm trying to do a good job at being a pediatric resident (which is fairly long hours) because I'm applying to a emergency medicine fellowship (2 more years of training) - which means I'm being a "yes" man a lot. So, I'm in Vancouver for the month to browse both for a fellowship spot and a job in a few years, and did the same in Ottawa 3 months ago. Submitting the application for fellowship took some work too.
Trying to keep up with my family, so that my girls have a father every once in a while. It was great - they came to Vancouver last week, it was sunny and we went all over the beaches, parks and markets - had a great time.

Anyways. No further progress.

Did score some free spalted maple today - went to Vancouver Urban Timberworks and Eric showed me around - great guy.

I'll update ASAP as there's progress. Probably will have a table project up first though.

Wow, that's a full plate. All the best, to you, with all of it. I know it can't be easy, but I hope it's as richly rewarding as it sounds like it could be.

Nice grab, with the maple.

Hope to see some updates, here, when you have them.

Thanks! It isn't easy, but I have great support from my wife and it is extremely rewarding. Woodworking is my little shelter.

I really like the community here, and feel compelled to post anything I do as soon as I do it. You guys will be the first to know (after my wife, obviously)
