Super Strat, figured Swamp Ash..

Almost done with the top, a couple of more coats and it should be there.

It's actually a little darker than it looks in these pics with my crappy camera...

I'm calling the body done...here are a few shots in different lights and angles.

Overall the finish is a little darker and much shinier than it looks in the pics, someday I'll get a better camera...

Looks great!

As for the camera, I think you're probably good with what you have, as are most folks, really. The problem is almost always lighting. Unfortunately, lighting gear is no fun but you can spend a lot more fixing that problem than you will on a camera. The very best $25,000 camera will still produce crappy shots if the lighting is wrong.

Yes florescent lighting sucks, but my camera does, too. I've been fighting with the stupid thing for years with all different lighting and it doesn't matter. I hope to have a new camera in a week or so to take good pics of the finished guitar.

Thanks guys! Here's the neck that's going on it (at least for now), I'm still working on the finish. It's almost done.

She's all put together, but not set up yet. Everything works so that's good, lol!

Here's my elaborate wiring scheme. I may add a mini switch for direct to jack but I'm just going to see how it goes like this first..

I hope to try and get some better pics tomorrow, but it might have to wait until I get a new camera and I can't swing that this week. Here's my bitch!

I'd use a push-pull pot rather than an additional microswitch. I really like the look of that single knob, I wouldn't want anything additional.

I agree. Also, a controls bypass switch isn't as dramatic an effect as is often described, and in this case would be even more subtle since there's no tone control involved. A reasonably quick way to find out if it would do you any good would be to just lift the ground on the volume pot and turn it up to 10. That would put your pickup straight out to the jack and tell you how much signal the volume control was costing you in the first place. I suspect you'll have a tough time hearing the difference.
