Stage Diving - not a good idea in rural England

As the lead singer of Anti-Flag (never heard of them but then I am a prog fan ;)) has found out we don't like silly stage antics around here, I feel sorry for the fans of the band since they'll miss gig(s) they been looking forward too but not for the singer (despite his broken collar bone) as stage diving is daft to say the least. link

Having been to gigs at the UEA I know that the crowd that tends to attend those gigs is one that will stand there and simply listen to music unless the band is as big as say Motorhead (who play the UEA on every UK tour) only then will they go mental.  :icon_biggrin:

Brazilians are like this sometimes... (talking on rock/metal music)

Around here if there are enough people you can just do it, they'll catch you.  Not like they'll get out of the way.  But if you can see the floor from the stage there are not enough people!  You will kiss the concrete...

Yep - I've seen a crowd clear and let the guy drop as well.

Can be pretty nasty.  I might roll around on stage, but I never leave it  :)

Pfft I've only gigged like twice but I can't imagine stage diving.  Kinda busy playing guitar.  That shit is for the singer and the crowd...

I've seen it...I'd never do it.  I've also seen what the OP described...not a pretty sight.

Collarbone???  If that guy were trully punk, that would never have stopped him from playing the rest of the tour.  What was it Stubhead said recently, Oh yeah, the kids these days are just no good.

I saw a punk show once where the singer sprained his ankle during the first number and sang the rest of the show from a chair.  :laughing7: :guitarplayer2:
