SG with 2TEK

Here's part of my next build.  :icon_biggrin:
Nothing Flash ..... But ..... Something different !!

Custom Build Spec's ………

Body ... SG
Solid 1 - 3/4'' Thinkness
Swamp Ash
Rear Rout H x H (wood mount)
2 x Vol, 2 x Tone
3 Way Toggle
Contoured Heel
Graffiti Yellow
3/4'' Side Jack Hole
Routed for 2TEK Bridge

Awaiting on the Custom built Neck ….. (nothing real fancy)

Finish is perfect and rather bright, all good.  :icon_thumright:
The Body looks so thick too ...

There is NO hole for a grounding earth wire for the 2TEK bridge.

Thought that was rather strange  :tard:  so I have (only just) informed Rob on this matter.
No drama for me, but I'm thinking what others would think when they come across this.
(May-be something needs to be looked into here)  :dontknow:
Also the 2TEK rout could be just a little cleaner …. all thou it's hidden.  :toothy11:

Anyway ...
I should be able to just drill a hole (earth wire) from the bridge humbucker rout into the 2TEK bridge cavity.
Or …. from the 2TEK cavity into the control cavity.
But the 1st is going to be much easier.
(I'll wait to here from Rob before attacking it)

Originally idea (which I have here) was to use Triple Shots with a Pickguard.
Then thought to just using Black Metal Humbucker Mount Rings.
Now think.
Because I'm NOT having a 2TEK Mount Ring, Going naked on that ....... Naked is Good.  :laughing7:
So might look better with naked puppies too.

Oh well. I'll see with the different options I have to play around with.
Plus wait till the neck is here too.

Oppps … I got the wrong size jack hole    :doh:    …. easy fix thou !!

The name kind-of goes with the pickups, if you get what I mean  :dontknow:
Plus the over all look of the guitar (when finished)

But …. looking at it the easiest would be the Bridge Hum rout.
No hurry as I'm awaiting the neck.

BTW … Neck is, just Maple with a Unique Dark Black Ebony fretboard.
Finished in Clear Satin Nitro with a matching Graffiti Yellow headstock.

Q 1 .. What you think on splitting those Humbuckers with push / pull pots ?

Idea-pitch aside, I really dig this. I sold my old 'Faded' SG (One of the rarely good ones!) LONG ago to a man who drove all the way from Jersey for one. It was a great guitar, and the demon in my mind has craved a Gibson clone ever since. Perchance this thread will calm the urge for a time.  :hello2: Love it! If you find yourself near the USA capital any time, bring a guitar or 10. I'd love to check them out.  :laughing7:
