Screamin deals on Warmoth

First, welcome to the forum :icon_thumright:
Go to the showcase [in stock guitar bodies] and do the filter for bridge route of  "any hardtail."
There are 25+ pages for your buying pleasure.
Just be sure to post pics of what you choose...
:rock-on:

Demand?  Objectively, that's a strange request.  Better upper fret access on Warmoth's most shredder appealing offering, a trem seems the most popular choice, though someone did build a hardtail soloist a while back.

The screamin' deals section is for clearance items they want to sell quickly. That's where you find defective paint, old items, or commonplace stuff that everyone wants.

Speaking of the showcase as a whole, trems are what sell for Soloists. You can't argue with what sells and what doesn't.

A bunch of us hardtail enthusiasts gripe about the lack on non-trem routed bodies. But it really is a reflection of the original designs. There's a similar lack of floyd routed tele's in the showcase. Or STP drilled 7 strings.  Not that it means we'll quit griping about it or anything.

There are the occasional hard tail soloist body in the showcase sometimes. And it's usually gone in 60 seconds.

Be quick ... or ... use the Builder instead.  :headbang:

As you see... People actually want it. Bodies with trems are usually hanging around a long time.

I'm pretty sure the Showcase is filled with what sells. And that W knows what they are doing in terms of that.

Things you don't see a whole lot of there:

1. Certain body styles not routed for trems.
2. Teles not pre-routed for Tele bridges.
3. P-bass necks (vs. zillions of J-bass necks).
4. The various "less popular" body styles.
5. Exotic "special" bass necks seem more common in 5-string varieties than 4-string.
6. Conversion necks.

Well, since you're posting about wanting something from the "Screamin' Deals" section that tells us you're wanting to try and save a few bucks. With that in mind, the Screamin' Deals section, as someone noted above, is for leftovers, seconds, blemishes, huge knots in the wood, scratches, overstock etc... In a situation like that you pretty much have to just be patient with whatever shows up there. If you're looking for something out of the ordinary, in a special way, it most likely will never be there. As others have said, soloist bodies are commonly routed for a tremolo. There may be ones in the regular area of the showcase that aren't routed at all. When you place your order Warmoth will route it for you at no charge. That is always a bonus!
Good luck and I hope you find your dream guitar,
MULLY

I suspect a second factor is 'shelf life'. Marketing types baffle me, but for some reason they get freaked out if a particular white alder strat body routed for any trem sits on the shelf too long, so they'll blow it out and replace it with an identical newly manufactured one. I think that's the reason behind the more pedestrian stuff you see in the showcase.

That's what happened with my Buck Owens Tele body.  It'd been there 18 months and was priced to move.

This thread also reminds me of a former forumite, "Why are there no lefty WGD bodies with the Nalls mod in the showcase?"

It's not the marketing types who have a baby over stagnant stock. Most sales and marketing types fight like dogs with management to have a broad-based stockroom (heavy inventory) so they can get to "yes" answers from customers more easily. Management, on the other hand, wants things to move. Money that stands still is NFG. It has to have velocity. You have to have cash flow in order to run a business and make a profit. 10,000 bodies on the shelf won't pay the bills, while 500 sales will.
