I still like the Soloist with P-rails, and a Floyd.

But I like that VIP as well, but there would be only $51 left over for a neck.    :sad1:

...but we might be putting a lot of expense onto Blue.  The Soloist, or some of the Gibby style bodies are much less.

We have a proposal: L5s with dual F-holes, 2 Lollar P90s and a Bigsby!  Blue likes L5S, doesn't have P90s or a bigsby, and let's face it Soloists are kinda weanie guitars.  :icon_jokercolor:

Doc, the tone on those pickups is seriously stunning both clean and overdriven. I can't imagine how you prefer your ceramic magnet floyd sound, to be honest.

That's a build I'd enjoy seeing get done. What kind of wood and finish now?

You could do that Lennon-style, with a maple top. Don't remember the back wood.... just go mahogany, with a clear finish. Chrome/nickel dogear p90s.

Now I'm just jealous.  I want a Bigsby....Wahhhhhhhh!  Just kidding the L5S w/P-90's and Bigsby sounds absolutely killer!  I've seen a number of Gibson ES with Bigsbys that were this vintagey trans brown that were very cool.  Just saying.

Cool, I like the sound of this L5S.  Black finish with cream binding would be great with the P90s.

Looks like the p90s are winning, and it looks (at the moment) that the body will be a l5s (SG, man, SG. White or red!). Then we need to decide on colors, neck, hardware, etc...

I am in but would like someone else to run it...I was so worried about winning even though I knew it was on the up and up it would have looked bad. And I almost did win I was 86!!! I kept thinking if I win I would probably have cut the pot in half and raffled that off just so it didn't look fishy.

Anyway after Blue gets his guitar underway I guess we can try again

I think an L5 would look really nice with Bloodwood top LT46.  Flame Koa would be great too, but that's an extra $420.
