Even crazier:  Z body, do some nice straight grained dark woods, maybe Indian Rosewood or Walnut with a thick glossy clear finish. Then a Warmoth headstock Pro 24 1/2 scale Wenge neck with a Ipe fingerboard.

Black Floyd, X2N bride and neck set with 1 Vol and 1 Tone ( EMG afterburner as tone for a very awesome and totally unnecessary screaming high boost!) Stainless steel frets (24).


I'm making very happy faces just thinking about it ( Drooling also ). :icon_biggrin:

Oh man, I didn't think of that!  A Z would be hot too.

I don't know about the Z, iceman, explorer - he said he wanted to something comfortable to sit with and he didn't mention / seem to want / own a funky shaped body. Maybe Gary's explorer, though!

Edit: whoa those knobs are way off... they should be in standard LP locations.  And they should be these cream speed knobs that go to eleven

Yes, but this isn't the first time I've seen Gary link that one.  I'd feel guilty owning it, even if he said it was cool.  :redflag:

So far a P-90 build or a Soloist build seem to be in the lead.  I like all the angles this is being approached from so far!  :rock-on:

OK, it's pretty much gonna be P90 based. Let's decide: soloist or one of the Gibson-based options (SG, LP jr, L5s)?
I vote any of the Gibsons.

I'd say either an SG or a flat top LPS with p90s.  An L5s would be awesome to though.

That would look killer (maybe) on an SG.

For LP, I still say tobaccoburst and all. Teardrop shaped burst, not the border one.

For the guitar, I'd actually say a VIP.  I can imagine one with a LP Jr tailpiece, black P90s, and some kind of Fernando approved wood top.
