LPS, SG jr or L5S, all them are nice and would vote the same specs for all them...
Only doubt is about the top on SG, what Warmoth can and can't do... Would be cool if they take risk as on Eric's Gecko and made a 3/8" spalt top on a SG (this is the size of the bevels, right?)

I would have gotten a blueburst strat body with a curly or flame maple top and trans blue back (either swamp ash or alder).  I would have matched it with a maple/ebony neck routed for Floyd.

Then, I would have made my version of a Steve Lukather Valley Arts from the mid-1980s guitar!

Yea, Blueburst figured maple top strat, maple/ebony neck, Original floyd rose, EMG Lukather pickup assembly, black hardware.

But...that's me.

OK, it's pretty much gonna be P90 based. Let's decide: soloist or one of the Gibson-based options (SG, LP jr, L5s)?
I vote any of the Gibsons.

Out of the Gibson options I'd rate them in order as L5S, SG, LPS, LP Jr.

I've talked with a few friends about this.  They've convinced me that if I have to pony up some extra cash toward the body and neck, I should.  It's a special build that's being designed by some good people.  A couple hundred extra of cushion is ok if you're getting to a deal breaker.

A soloist with P-90's an a Floyd just seems like a guitar abomination to me. I'm sorry it just does. Soloist and Floyd fine. But Soloist and P-90 is not right and Floyd and P-90s is really not right. But what do I know I'm weird? :toothy10:

I actually do have to agree with you, GD.  If it is a Soloist, it should be either an HxH or an HSS.  After further thought, I agree that P90s and a Floyd would be an abomination.  However, I think a Soloist with two P90s and a recessed TOM/string-thru could be be pulled off nicely. 

If the Gibby types are winning.  I like that SG you posted, but Blue likes the L5 better than an SG.  L5S with Bigsby is not a bad call.   But if it is an L5S, consider double f-holes.    :icon_thumright:

I need p90s too, but that'll come later. I've got two acoustics, an electric w/ tele bridge/hb neck (great for Zep, btw), a trumpet and 2 keyboards in my room to keep me entertained until then.

And isn't half the fun of Warmoth making things you wouldn't normally see?

I am definitely a humbucker guy.  But it looks like Blue already has a couple of guitars with humbuckers and none with P90s.  That and the fact that the P90 vote seems to be overwhelming, I won't even suggest going with humbuckers.  Therefore, a Floyd is probably out.

Marko...I like the way you think, 'cept I'd go for black P-rails...but that's just me. 

That way Blue gets three things he doesn't have:  a Soloist, P90s (and humbuckers together), and a Floyd.  :icon_thumright:


Another thought would be a VIP with P90s.  There is a VIP similar to the Soloist I posted, but the VIP is over $700.  :sad1:
