I have had this name on a guitar case since the 80's. I was trying to describe that tone a strat has on the in-between positions but also that overall tone. It really spoke to me and one day while listening to the radio it came to me.. the tone has a troubled treble quality to it, kinda bluesesque. The song I was listening to at the time even though it was not blues, what I really like to hear, was "Finish What You Started" by Van Halen. That snarky tone Eddie was groovin' on.

The avatar is a take on a beer label from my favorite brewery. DeSchutes Brewery in Bend Oregon. Before I moved to Oregon I would visit once or twice a year. Before going on the big mountian bike ride in the area we would go to the brewery and have a bunch of pints the night before.. Mmmmmm Cask Conditioned Ale!

The three mountains are the "Three Sisters" in Bend and the river is the DeSchutes River. Great area if you like the outdoors.

I have been misreading your name since I joined this board, and just realized it. I always thought it was TroubledTele. I guess I never really looked. I always see people with your pickups on Tele's so I guess I assumed.

Hey by the way, how is your new job going?  Can we look forward to a KBO Warmoth anytime soon?

I don't start until february 8th, so I'm just relaxing and doing some guitar recording for a guy's project at the moment. But I must say, it's already a much better job than my last one - next week I'm going away on a 2 day course to learn the journal systems, products etc with everything including transportation, hotel stay and food paid for. I even get paid myself for it! At my last job, I got zero introduction...

Guitars will take a while as this horrible last year has put me debt to family, friends and what is now my ex, so maybe I can start saving up for that at the end of summer. But I got The Killing Joke for christmas :icon_thumright:

Batman! I've got The Miller trilogy already so now I've got the essentials. Currently considering the Hush series, or maybe I'll change franchise and go Age of Apocalypse. In the end I'll have both of course! :laughing7:

I'd say mine is fairly self explanitary.
My name is Jim Hardie. The pic is me and my W

Troubled treble - Deschutes is also my favorite brewery! That brewpub in Bend is maybe the best brewpub I've ever been to.
We can get it occasionally in NYC at about $15 for a sixer....

Excellent! Boy, do I love me some Batman. I must admit, however, that it's been a while since I spent some quality time with a Batman comic. Nonetheless, The Killing Joke is a true classic! I feel this is also as good a time as any to confess a shameful guilty pleasure of mine, while we're on the topic: Batman: The Animated series (1992-1995). When I was a kid, I loved it simply as a cartoon, but I've since come to appreciate it's aesthetic appeal; it has a great Art Deco/film noir look to it, and the characterization is really good, especially considering it's a kid's show. It's a children's cartoon that's equally entertaining for grown-ups (a rarity indeed...). Yes, I own it on DVD and still watch it from time to time...  :help:

I also recently bought The Killing Joke.  It's so good, but I wish it was longer since it took me about 1/2 hour to read.  I want to read The Long Halloween next, and I'm curious about the Neil Gaiman Batman stuff.  I'm currently reading the new Batman & Robin series, which is great except for the fact that I didn't read the stuff that came out right before it, so I have no idea how Bruce Wayne got killed.  That's the problem with long running super-hero comics, if you don't have a guide that outlines the basic plot and says which books to read, it can get really confusing.

Hush is pretty good, especially if you're a Jeph Loeb or Jim Lee fan.  I liked it.  The ending is pretty crazy.

I totally recommend Promethea if you like Alan Moore and you're looking for something in the superhero vein but a little different.  So good!

I went to Howard University, an Historically Black College/University (HBCU) for grad school. The mascot is the Bison.

I was born in 1966.

My avatar came from faceyourmanga.

My nick is from way back when.. when I wanted to name my band Volition, but nobody in the band wanted to go for it.
I think it's a bit of a mouthful though, and anything I've been registering on lately I shorten it to Advoc.  I was thinking of doing that here but I didn't want to confuse anybody who sees me posting regularly so I guess it'll stick.

My avatar is usually updated everytime somebody takes a really kickass picture of me at a show.  I forgot to update it last time though.

Mirrorpond is one of my absolute favorites!

My nickname is Tex...and one day I was watching Gladiator after a case of beer and started shouting TEXICUS!!!  TEXICUS!!!  So it just kinda stuck.

And the pic...it's a smiley guy riding a moped!  How wicked is that!

My name is Peter, most people call me Pete.

I'm Australian. Or Aussie for short (pronounced as Ozzie). That gives you OzziePete!

The picture is a copy of the Eureka Flag, which these days is used as a symbol of workers' unity against Govt. and the employers. It was originally flown over a mine workers rebellion in rural Victoria, Australia as a symbol of defiance for the conditions they worked under and the taxes etc. that were tariffed on them.

It's probably the closest thing Australia has to the old US Confederate Flag.

I'm not a lefty unionist but I do have centre-left and some socialist leanings. But I'm not a raving Marxist, just someone who wants equal rights & fair pay.

This is me....

I'm Jørund (Kjellson) Hjeltnes. I don't trust the "ø" to show up correctly (go scandinavia!) so I tend to make variations on the theme :toothy11:

Oh, and happy new year everyone!
