Post what you're listening to!

Charlie Hunter (weird guitar), Keita Ogawa (drums) and Lucy Woodward (smokin' vocals).  This is a helluva trio.  Here they are covering Lucinda Williams, "I Can't Let Go," and Howlin' Wolf, "Spoonful."  Tremendous work.

Thanks, Ian. They're really good. I especially liked the second one you posted. Outstanding stuff.

Currently, Mononc' Serge. Funniest singer I know

Another version of a previously posted tune.  I like how they recorded it ... in a Honda.

Pink Floyd: The Endless River.

Can't get enough of Richard Wright's piano playing, so soothing.

Music scene. NYC. This band is from LA.  A little amped up, but it's the right flavor.  Probably never see this again in our Disney-fied world.

It was an interesting scene.  Lot's of music, rock, punk, country, rap, salsa, disco ... man! It was a good stew.  Everynight something different.

Good times!

What what was that: Reality.

It's a clip from SNL.

As I said, it's a little exaggerated but that's the way it was.  New York circa 1980 was an exciting time.  You're welcome.  Baloney, au contraire, it's awesome!  And I wanted to share.

I'll give you a dollar if you'll be my friend.

I enjoyed it thoroughly! But then, I like Fear, so it makes sense that I would... A Perfect Circle did a great cover of one of their songs on the eMotive album, one of the highlights of that album actually.

I find myself intrigued by fingerstyle guitar lately. I don't know why, maybe I just consider it a challenge?

That Peter Finger piece is nice - it's got shades of Django, John McLaughlin, Michael Hedges... really good stuff.  So much modern fingerstyle is, to my ear, a warmed-over Hedges ripoff, but this guy takes some of that and makes it very much his own.  Thank you for sharing. I will spend time today looking for more of his stuff.

Edit - he's also got some picking that sounds like West African kora music.  If you liked this, check out Walter Strauss, whose approach is a little less pyrotechnic, but tremendously musical.  He does great solo stuff, and also some interesting work with Mamajowali, a trio that features him, mandolinist/fiddler/wild-man Joe Craven, and Malian kamale ngoni (hunter's harp) master Mamadou Sidibe.

Here's Walter:

T for Thelma, that gal that made a wreck out of me ... water taste like sweet cherry wine ... get a shotgun ... treated like dirty dog.

That's great!  :yourock:
