Post what you're listening to!

These guys are an Australian band who I guess are reasonably popular over here and who I've always avoided because they're often described as psychedelic which is a bit of a turn off for me. Anyway, I finally decided to check them out and they're such a great time. They actually feel like a supercharged krautrock band to me, which description would got me listening to them much sooner.

The first ever blow for Australia has been struck in the geoblocking wars. Australian sites blocked to Americans: 1, American sites blocked to Australians: 7 trillion

That track I suppose shows why folks have been calling them psychedelic. I don't care too much for that sound, but their two most recent albums 'Flying Microtonal Banana' and 'Nonagon Infinity' are great.

That link is actually to a series of their work; I don't know if the stuff you're thinking of is in there. I'd look harder, but those videos are really annoying. Whoever produced that stuff ought to be punished - they're certainly not doing the band any favors.

Aye, that sort of garbage was exactly what I thought I was avoiding when I heard the word psychedelic. There are a few of the tracks I like a bit further into it though.

This "new" Haken album has literally been the only thing I've listened to the past few days, I can't believe I didn't listen to it when it came out...

That's pretty unique sounding. That Tele bass though

Yes, Dug's got a very special bass sound. A lot of distortion just like Billy Sheehan, even though they sound different.
You have heard King's X Dogman, haven't you? An awesome heavy number:

Connect your headphones and turn it up!

OK I have no idea how the youtube thing here works. Anyways  this band is an odd mix of prog rock and alternative.

That's pretty awesome sounding. I wouldn't be able to listen to it tons, I like the bass and guitar, but not really the drums and vocals.

I've been loving the new Mastodon album. Show Yourself is pretty fun to play as well.

I know this is a demo vid for SD pickups, but Rodney Gene really plays. I like to go back and listen to this now and then. His other stuff is good, too.

Just a nice growl out of those Jazzmasters.
