I used to see Molly Tuttle at the Redwood Bluegrass Association shows in Palo Alto when she was a youngster, playing with her family. She's gone on to greatness. This one's a barn-burner.

My memory from these guys is that the recordings sounded so bad that it was hard to listen to, even if the music was pretty good. And I don’t know who did what, but this sounds pretty fantastic for a live recording from 1974, I believe.

That's a good question, perhaps Rhino Records, who have done the box set re-release, might know.
