Post What Jazz You're Listening To

Here's the entire set from the 2013 Java Jazz Festival in Indonesia.  The song you're after is "Lay It Down".  The video you posted actually picks up partway through the tune.

Thank you I will have to set some time aside to watch it...  :icon_thumright:

Dave Holland, Joe Lovano, John Scofield, Al Foster - The Winding Way.  Dave Holland opens the tune with a ripping bass solo.  Enjoy.

From the 1989 North Sea Jazz Festival, Tuck Andress & Patti Cathcart performing a lovely set.

Tony Bennett performing "Don't Get Around Much Anymore" with Michale Bublé from Duets II: The Great Performances

Somewhat topical as not many of us are getting around much anymore due to Covid...

Just followed a end-of-video thumbnail practically at random and got this lovely performance by the hitherto-unknown-to-me Swedish pianist Esbjorn Svensson and his trio.

That is a cool find...

Indeed.  I listened to more of his stuff and then, sadly, I Googled him.  I learned that he was killed in a scuba diving accident in 2008, age 44, leaving a wife and children behind.  Alas.

That is sadly a young age to go and for his family to have to go through. There must be many experiences and stories behind the artists and songs in this thread.

I have no words really seeing this first thing this morning where I am. Chick was a beautiful person and someone I have met and chatted with for a short time. I am sure he will go in peace and grace to his next adventure...

Eva Cassidy, taken in her prime by aggressive cancer.  Monster set of pipes and glorious interpretation skills.
