Photobucket has become something of a dirty word on many sites that allow 3rd party image links. What many people do here is either use UnofficialWarmoth's built-in photo hosting, although it's rather limited (no library, editing, etc.). But, it's there if you wanna use it. If you need something better, more along the lines of PhotoBucket's features, many also use imgur. You might want to have a look at that and see if it'll serve your needs.
Not to mention the scripting. I use NoScript to block all but the most necessary scripts. When I left PB, I noted about 40 different scripts they were trying to run, at the same time! Imgur is definitely a better choice... :icon_thumright:
I switched to Flickr. It has a free plan for up to 1000 photos or videos.
After that, the paid plans are quite reasonable if I chose to go in that direction.
