Non-Warmoth Headless Strat Re-build

This is a Cort Steinberger that I've had for years but I have no idea from who or where I got it. A couple of friends and I used to work at the EAW speaker paint shop so I brought this guitar to my friend in the paint booth with the idea of putting the rough textured finish on it just like our speakers. After he put on the flat black base coat, I decided I liked that better so we just left it flat black. Fast forward a few years and sadly the friend who painted the guitar for me has since passed away, so I decided to dust this thing off and rebuild it with all new parts but keep the black finish with no clear coat in memory of my friend. The pickguard and most parts are from Warmoth. The biggest challenge was that the saddles were missing so it took a while to find new ones - I went to Headless USA if anyone's looking for headless parts and they sent me a free pack of double ball strings. There's still some details to clean up but I cut my own white pearl pickguard and went with the black metal Strat bell knobs. There's an Area 67 at the neck, Dimarzio Chopper in the middle and Duncan Vintage Rail at the bridge. I can't comment much about the pickups until I'm done setting up (the middle one's not working yet) but this was a fun project to practice working on guitars. I call it the Headless Horseman.

:rock-on:

Before and after photos: (the first photo looks blue-ish but it's the same black finish as the second photo)

That looks very cool.

I'd love to build a headless bass, but wouldn't know where to begin.
