did you get any of the V-Studio packages?
I was eye-ing the 700 (after I had bought all my gear). I've never used cakewalk/sonar though.

It's all in the box.
I don't use any other outboard gear. There are plenty of plugins available to minimize the amount of hardware needed.

I still have libraries & applications & such to transfer over by using a 30gb portable hard drive as a ferry boat, but so far, tests have proven succesfull & it's loads faster.
The old system, which was my only PC, was a 10 year old Dell Dimension 8200 with a speed of 1.8gb, with 74gb of hard drive space, & 512mb of Ram.
The new system, which is being used for recording/sequencing only, no internet, no office, everything else stripped, is an HP Compaq, with 150gb of storage space, 3.40gb speed, 1gb of Ram.
I'm still debating on installing the printer drivers to it so that I can print scores & marker sheets from Sonar, or if I'll just leave Sonar on the old system specifically for that purpose, printing from the file on the portable hard drive. I'm not sure which way I should go on that yet.
I'm very thankful that #1, this was a free gift, #2, it's screaming faster in opening up the applications, #3 the old system would run Sonar at 92% CPU usage, the new one runs it at 1.002% CPU usage.
