JUST got my quantum view-email from UPS! so, in 2 days, it will be here!

the low down:

les paul, carved top
2 piece indian rosewood back
2 piece purpleheart TOP
iveroid binding on top
custom engraved neckplate (by me!, sorry Doug ;) )
3 custom wound pickups (wound by Jon from tonefordays, designed by: ME!) gold cover

canary fatback neck
25.5'' scale
22 superjumbo frets
celtic cross+skull'n bone inlay
iveroid binding
macassar ebony board
macassar ebony headstock veneer (cool!!)
les paul-headstock
sperzel tuners, countersunk
kahler tremolo/hybrid trem (I have one here, and I use it as a fixed bridge; the tone is great, looks cool too, feels awesome, and takes some of the weight away of the body, its VERY heavy!)

the entire thing weighs 5 kilo's, without hardware and stuff mounted ;)

so, when pics are available, I will post them, don't worry.

I also have 2 more projects in mind.

1: transblack LP with purpleheart/ebony neck, block inlay (my version of the BB)
2: trans white LP with bubinga/eb. neck, block inlay (my version of the white beauty)

with those, I can die a happy man! no fancy tremolo's or inlays this time by the way. but the BB will get 3 gold motherbuckers with ALL the wiring options (over 1200 tone options I believe?) and the page will get something entirely different; trisonic/alumitone next to eachother.

I think its finally time to make those 2 dreams come true after all these years ;)

Wow!  You gotta' lot going on there.  That sounds like a really sick build  :headbang1:

I wouldn't argue that....but you have a whole house full of realized dreams.

sure, that but's what makes things interesting; realising the things you want, wether it being graduation, drivers licence or: special guitars.

@DBW: thats the irony of my post ;)

@shane: I bet it will! but I don't mind.

@dangerous: tomorrow, within 24 hours, I'll give you all the pics!

i can't wait to see how this turns out. i emailed about a purpleheart top for a carved soloist, but turns out it would cost insane amounts  :-\

really? well, maybe the extra cost of the purpleheart was negligable compared with the 2 piece indian RW back? the 5 piece indian RW back + purpleheart top was 845$. the 2 piece+ binding was 'just' 1200 $

Oh shit, that looks insane dude!  :headbang:
(you're from the netherlands btw.?)

really looking forward to seeing it finished!  :glasses9:

Awesooooooooooooooooooooooome! TUNE O MATIC FOR THE WIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

no, she'll get a kahler hybrid. this due to several reasons.
1: if I need a trem, I'll have it readily available.
2: I can adjust stringspacing and stringheight better with the kahler than with a tune o matic. I just need the ToM stoptail and bridge bushings.
3: I find the kahler more comfortable, playwise, than the ToM
4: most importantly, I break NO strings with a kahler, and with a ToM, I have a high-e-subscription, so to say.

and yeah, I'll put some oil on this beautiful, gorgeous body!
