New Project!

Wow...So sweet. That wood with the gold looks awesome. :rock-on:

What is the blade switch for?

in a few weeks/days time, I'll be recieving my new custombuild pickups, and that will be a set of 3, for a change. normally I only use bridge and neck, but this one will get a middle pickup, with WORKABLE tones! but, I need a way to use my les paul in a normal les paul-fashion, but also, when I use the middle pickup, like a 'strat'. so, I have a 3 way toggle for bridge and neck, and the output from the toggle doesnt go to the jack, but to the blade. to the right, its just stock. one notch to the left, and the middle goes on. one more notch to the left, and its only the middle, but I rarely use that tone, eventhough it really sounds nice!

nice build! looks like it needs some serious fretwork. you take these to a tech after asembly, right?

Brian

thats what I hear a gazilion times  :sad1: but it doesn't need leveling, hell, I didn't even need to adjust the trussrod (yet). the frets are level (enough), and the ends are smooth (enough). no problems with it, really.

what's wrong with the frets? besides being ridiculously huge?  :laughing7:

Nothing, thats my point. I just raised the nut a millimeter and turned a bit on the trussrod to get a bit relief on the neck, and now she plays a bit better indeed.

Sweetest Idea EVER!
Plus I friggin love the look of the extra switch. This guitar is just B.A.!!!

the fret ends are at a right angle...very uncomfortable in my opinion. I had my tech grind them down a bit on my build. the funny thing about it was that he said that many players liked having extra room on the ends for bending or whatever...there realy isnt any room to bend there but people are crazy.

the edge is straight, but not sharp :)

I just made a trussrod cover, made out of padouk. Looks really nice, better than the usual black. I danish-oiled the piece of wood, and I also recessed the screws. Friday, I'll make a brass cross, and I'll glue/recess that in that cover.

I missed this thread's updates during my two week absence - damn, it looks great! Light oil finishes ftw!
