Yowza. This piece is amazing. Even better than my dreams for this. Now I'm going to have to build a body that keeps up with it.

Mahogany back, black ebony fingerboard, no inlays, angled strat, gold colored frets. Drilled for sperzels, but I may use the new steinberger gearless tuners.

That's a beautiful piece. The clean look of no inlays is nice. Ebony is, of course, just about the ultimate fretboard. You're gonna love those gold frets. They're as slick as stainless, but with character. Any ideas on what you're going to do for a body?

Oh yes. Chambered strat, mahogany back, quilted maple top. Green dye finish. Most likely 2 humbuckers. Rear routed.

Tasty looking fretboard - very nice!  Since you went with a somewhat traditional LP wood combo & angled peghead is it also 24.75" scale?

Thanks! It's a clear satin finish. Very close to an unfinished feel.

And no, it's the standard strat length - I've been playing strats too long to change. The mahogany is just to try and get some of the warmth and depth of a gibson, and to counteract the brightness of the ebony neck.

It looks very nice with the satin finish.  I've got a Mahogany/Ebony with the gloss finish and it's still amazing to look at.
