The neck is the Afra/Afra part I was going to put on the black cherry Tele. That's the new brass Scartozi bridge you see in that last shot. I need to decide where to put the the pickup selector toggle, so that hole isn't there yet. Won't have a tone control onboard, since I have this outboard tone control...

Love it! Seems like the natural binding and the Afra blend pretty well.  :icon_thumright:
:guitarplayer2:

That's gonna look absolutely horrible, you'd be better off just sending me that "thing".  :toothy12:

Have you made up your mind about pickup rings? Gonna be an awesome Tele Cagey  :headbang1:

That is gong to be a fine lookin' lady :glasses9:
I love the natural masked binding and the bridge is sweeet as well.
Nice build Cagey and keep the pics a rollin'
:rock-on:

So is that the vintage tint binding? If so, it seems to look pretty good with the gold. (Gathering ideas for a future proj. :help:)

Oh and :kewlpics:

They didn't call it out that way, but if you look at the shots where you can see into the neck pocket from the side, it's obvious that the top wood's natural color is much lighter.

Hehe! No, I think I'm gonna hang onto this one. Thing's light as a feather at 2lbs., 15oz. Plus, it's purty.

Doug's making me some brass pickup rings and a brass knob. You can buy them made of brass, but they're always already plated or painted. Based on recent experience, I'm not in the mood to strip any more chrome. So, I'll polish up what he makes and things will match the bridge nicely.

Trying to decide now whether to do black or cream pickups. The single coil looks good black with a gold mounting ring, but my Roadhouse humbucker is open coil cream. So, I've got some black covers coming. I've got black Graphtech saddles for the bridge, and brass mounting rings would sorta match up to the natural masked binding. Seems like it would carry a theme - black insides, gold-ish outsides. We'll see how that looks.

Yummie  :icon_thumright:

Now that  :o  is by miles better than that 'Cherry Bomb' you had originally  :icon_biggrin:
Don't know what you were drinking  :laughing7:  when you pressed the buy now button, on that other body  :tard:
Thought it was a bit 'girl-ish' for you Cagey.

But this things a beauty  :blob7:  ... scartozi bridge, looks perfect !!

How's the Afra neck compared to other Raw ones you have ?

If you've played with a Canary neck, you've been very close to it. They could easily be mistaken for one another. The Afra seems slightly denser, and the grain straighter and more uniform in color, but that could just be the pieces I have. It also feels like Bubinga, but of course it doesn't look anything like it, and the Bubinga neck is noticeably heavier. The rest of the necks I have (Koa, Ziricote, Bloodwood, Maple, Pau Ferro, Walnut) are either denser/smoother or finished.

Thanks  :icon_thumright:  …. but wouldn't you know it, I don't have any of those you mention. Except the Pau-Ferro & Maple.

Oh no …. I see another build or two is needed.

WOW!!!! You're speakin' my language, I love black guitars, especially tele's! And with thst scartozi bridge it's just freakin' awesome!!! Congrats!!  :occasion14:

Another build or two is always needed.

If you haven't a Tele yet, I can highly recommend the carved top versions. In fact, I know where you could get good deal on a black cherry one...

Haven't a carve top Tele, Sorry 'Cherry Bomb' not for me.  :icon_biggrin:

Have this Tele .... http://www.unofficialwarmoth.com/index.php?topic=18930.0

 I was thinking about that after posting and then realized the routs would show the wood colour.

Now if only the tone control was that light... :laughing7:

I haven't weighed it yet, but I suspect that rack is about 42-45 pounds. Things will lighten up once I put the Axe-FX and the DCM200L in their own rack - probably be down to around 18-20 pounds. My guitar and its case weigh more than that.
