My Black Korina Strat update

Hi all,

There was much debate among the project overseers (wife 'n kids) as to whether to go with the trim rings around the neck and middle pickups or not.  I could've gone either way.  :glasses10:

I knew that was going to come up!!  I debated that also but was thinking that there was alot of gold/yellow with the tremolo and the amber color going down the middle of the body, thus the black trim rings.  I should've bought both so I could A and B them.

Thats a really nice finish.    Is it Black/Red/Yellow.    I was debating about that finish on my recent guitar as it always seems to look really good, especially with BK.    I think your pickup rings add a flair of sophistication to that guitar.    Black hardware??

Yes, it's a black-red- yellow burst.  I had really wanted a Tobacco burst when I first envisioned this build but then this came up and the showcase and I jumped on it.  No regrets.  I'm going with gold hardware this time around.  If it ends up looking  like something that belongs in the Liberace museum then I'll go with the black hardware.  :laughing7:

I ordered a Black Korina Strat about 5 weeks ago now with a Tobacco Burst finish and am eagerly awaiting its arrival. I'm going with a gold trem and tuners with black knobs and covers. What kind of neck/fingerboard is this going to be paired with? You'll have to update us with more pics when you've got some more work done on this.

Thanks, that's going to look real nice.  I went with a raw maple (that I finished in satin) with an ebony fretboard with abalone fret markers and jumbo frets.
