ok, i really want a mustang, but i want to get a strat neck for it instead because of the scale and back contour options.
i dont know if it'll work though because the body is designed for a 24" scale neck. i am not planning on a bridge route since i want to put a hardtail on it so i could have a little bit of give on the position of the bridge i believe.

will a strat neck work?

You would definitely need to relocate the bridge, but I'm not sure how much (For some reason I'm thinking around 3/4"). You would probably want to adjust the bridge pickup position as well. Another option would be the 24.75" 24 fret neck from the 7/8 scale series. It is a direct bolt-on for the Mustang body. It's not strat scale, but it's longer than the Mustang and you have all the back contour options. Plus you get 2 more frets.
