Thank you. I'm still trying to figure out what works best and what doesn't work on that guitar and what it's future purpose is in my stable.Great build, and fantastic pictures! I built a Mustang several years ago with a SD Hot Rails in the bridge and wired it the same as you, really liked how that arrangement worked out. I also was rather underwhelmed by the Mustang trem![]()
There's a lot I like about it; I like how it looks, how it hangs, the layout, where everything's at... but that trem, it's weird and it doesn't work well, at least not how I usually use a trem.
I even tried (slightly) heavier strings, because the internet says a Mustang needs bigger strings to sound and work right, but: I don't like it, I think it made the guitar sound and feel worse!
I also consider hardtailing it like Kurt Cobain and others did, since it's easy to do and fully reversible.
Actually, I think if I would build it again, I would use a hardtail from the beginning.
