Multi Effects pedals whats nice good system..

I'm hearing lots of good things about the Tonelab lately.  Personally I have a GNX-2 and a new Pocket Pod I got for Christmas.

I stopped using the GNX because the external power supply sucks, truely the weak link.  I've had the thing blow seven times since I got it (7 Power supplies).  However I have a Line-6 PX-2 power supply on order, it's recommended by the guys on the Digitech forums as its better quality and half the price.  It's apparently a known issue that Digitech isn't going to address.

The pocket pod is basically the POD 2.0 with less knobs and 1/3 the size.  Its not bad at all for late night practice.

I hope no one is getting sucked in by the above demo.

There are two things wrong with it.

1) The guy doing the demo doesn't play rhythm. Why is that an issue you might ask. Because the effects unit needs to sound good not only unto itself but in contrast to itself. The difference between the way it handles solo tones and rhythm tones is imperative to any serious player unless all they do is solo. Yaaaaaaawn.

2) The unit being demonstrated is not in the context of a band. It's mixed in, quite nicely with a backing track. When you try and take that gizmo out into the real world, you'd better have a serious sound man or you're going to sound like dogmeat to the audience.

Yes, I'm old. I've played a lot of gigs and i've seen those processors bring players to pint of utter frustration and dispair on stage.

They're awesome for recording though.

And that dude doing the demo is a real good player. I'd enjoy him even more if he played rhythm.
