Introducing MayFly Effects pedals

Thanks man! It will be available pretty much once I get the approval of the artist to use her artwork.

Pretty frickin' nifty. Your channeling of Paul Kossoff's ghost in the low-gain clip was impressive. And shoot, Trevor, it's fun to hear the sounds you make; but it's even more fun to hear the music you make.

Just back from Elmira. The show was awesome. I was busy the entire day giving demos and selling pedals to happy customers. It was a killer show.

I had some time before opening to take some photos. Check it out:

Some top secret soon to be released Mayfly Pedals....

I forgot to pack guitar cables so my buddy Rich from Retrotown Music helped me out with some of his:

You know you made it when some guy is selling used versions of your products! No he didn't end up selling them, but I sold several new versions of the same pedals! :) Check out the JHS angry driver next to the Open Window (It didn't sell either...)

Yes it was a real one. I got to touch it...

BTW - if anyone can figure out how to extract the video from that segment, I would be eternally grateful!

One way would be to download the video and then edit it to clip out the segment you want using a video editing software. Another way would be to use a screen capture program that can capture the audio and video of the segment as you watch it.

I managed to figure it out. Used a combination of screen recording and reaper for the audio. PITA, but it worked.

First thing I analyzed was how I use a tap tempo. I have the tap tempo in my EHX mod 11 (So I have three trem pedals!), and while tap tempo is OK, I imagine an expression pedal is better. The reason I say that is I'm much more accurate when using an exp pedal with my EHX Memory boy deluxe, when I'm adding or subtracting the number of repeats, than if I'm using the tap function. The ehx has both.

Next, I'm going to look at the waveforms, and then how to use them, like if would it be better to just increase the the rate, with the expression pedal, or have it simultaneously increase both the depth and the rate. Fun!
Hey Rick!

It's been awhile but I have a prototype all singing and dancing trem:

IMG_20240620_103108_365LoRes.jpg

It's a harmonic trem (with a normal trem switch). It has expression pedal inputs for speed and depth and it has tone, gain, and waveform controls. Full bypass with tap tempo. The waveform control is a rotary switch with 8 different waveforms (some good, some useless).

The pedal sounds very promising! But:
1 - I screwed up and put the input and output on the wrong sides. oops.
2 - the symmetry control does nothing. Well, nothing noticeable. Thinking of just removing it.
3 - Some of the waveforms are useless. Like "random" and "step". Also the two ramps are fairly useless on a harmonic trem as well. But sign, square, and triangle all work and sound great. Thinking of replacing the 8 position rotary switch with a three way toggle.

Want to give it a try?
