Most Washed Up Hair Metal Band

More heavy metal than hair metal...

Here we have what appears to be a sprightly young & coiffed Jack Black on lead vocals, along with lefty guitarist Nick Bowcott, who is almost certainly thinking to himself, "surely they didn't pay me enough":

Holly Sh*t!!  I so totally forgot about Fast as a Shark!  Midnight Mover was cool too.....

Grim Reaper.  Now that's just wrong.

Anybody remember the "Metal Detector" section in Guitar World? Those reviews were the best!

What about Zodiac Mindwarp and the Love Reaction?
They were always a bit of a comedy spinal tap alike, but good fun.  Back Seat Education anyone?    :party07:

The were Hair Blues Rock --  nothing metal about Cinderella- - except maybe the singer's exploding vocal cords. :laughing8:

Pfft, whatever dude... they were as hair-metal as it comes.

"Hair Blues Rock"?  Is that like "Lacey Power-Metal Reggae"?

You just made that category up, dinnit ya?

dbw is right.  :toothy10:

They were hair metal - except like Van Halen - they didn't play metal. So like I said - if it's a band you LIKE it's not hair metal and if it's a band you don't like it is.

Poison didn't play metal either.

I love Whitesnake's "Slide It In" and "Whitesnake" (1987) albums.  Hair metal to a tee, baby.  John Sykes was a badass with all that hair and metal tone to boot.

I like Cinderella's "Night Songs" as well.

Been a Dokken fan since they had Croucier (IIRC) on bass on first album (Breaking The Chains).

etc

And deep down, I have a special spot for Grim Reaper (more metal than anything, but to add) as well; if only for the comedic effect.

And yes, I s'pose if VH started in the 80's I would group them in as well... almost.

But they didn't start in the 80's... so they're one of those "special" exceptions.  And they're missing something anyways
when it comes to "hair metal".  Can't put my finger on it.

doesn't get much more 80s than this - I love it though!

I can't figure out why anyone thought or thinks that Gram Bonnet sounds good. :icon_scratch:

Great White isn't metal either.

I agree... although they did have the hair, and were 80's.

No glam in GW, either.

They were kinda a Zep ripoff band.

Which reminds me of just how many Zep ripoff bands the 80's had... forgot all about that!  Big wave of Zep or Zep-ish clones.

Kingdom Clone?  :icon_biggrin:

This was my favorite Zep Ripoff band from the 80s! I loved this album!!
it was produced by the same guy that did the Pink Floyd album at the time (was it bob ezrin?).. also Trevor Rabin worked on it! :)
