Cool!

I like the clear pickguard.
A Jazz bass just isn't a Jazz bass without the pickguard on it, and with the clear, you can still show off the lam top beneath it.

How do you like the Pau Ferro board?

pau ferro is as bright as maple according to the ton-o-meter by Warmoth.

I chose the piece of wood. It is really beatiful, it is a caramel colour.

I just love that bass !

Isn't the BOD one of your favorite Jazzes? :icon_jokercolor:

My absolute favorite of all Jazzes, because of it's perfect tone.

I think the BOD looks ok without a pickguard because it's so worn in that the it can pull off the look.
If you are talking about a new finish, without the pickguard and wear, it just looks too "open" and bulky. Like the body is too large.
The pickguard kind of flows in with the body shape and fills in the space on the front of the bass, filling in visual detail.

very nice...

make sure you enter this in the next guitar/bass of the month...it is sure to be a contender/

Do you do the finish yourself?

Pau Ferro is brighter than Rosewood and warmer than Ebony.
I guess you could say it's kind of like Maple then.

I like the color, because I prefer the lighter tan colored pieces of Pau Ferro rather than the darker brownish ones that somewhat resemble Rosewood.

If you choose the board, what was the gallery number, so we can pull up the stock photo of the fingerboard?

Sorry, I forgot my password, and the function to retrieve it does not seem to be working :/

@ dmraco: I can't find the guitar/bass of the month section

@ line6man: I can't remember the gallery number, and it is no more available as soon as you order the neck.
as I can remember, it was looking like the 'FB95' one

it is a contest I run every month.  Right now we are in guitar/bass of the year mode.  Look for it 2010.

I haven't seen.
It's FB97

If you can get the picture.
But I think it was near FB95, and FB96

It seems to be ordered by look

Translation for english talkers :

Hi solidbody, I can see "Basse Warmoth assemblée maison", our good French language...

I've also ordered a J-Bass body and neck and it's going to look like yours...
Don't you have an example of "normal" playing, no slap thing, I can't slap, too difficult...

Needless to tell you your bass is very cool, obviously !
