Meanwhile, at Warmoth...new "Visualizer" tool for the showcase!

I think that's probably rather more difficult.  Solid colors would be easier.  Trans, dyes and burst would be a nightmare.

Dude...you have NO idea. :)

Once we finally move to the new site, those will no longer be a part of the builder, ever.

can you ask them , for anything using Google service , put it on last thing to load on page .

as sometime I in China, or for anyone in China want to surf Warmoth page , it very very slow, as Google is block in China.

browser only going to loading other content after it loading Google stuff time out .

I show up at work and do it every day. Then, when I get home at night, I crawl into bed and cry until my heart attacks put me to sleep.

Then I get up and do it again...and work progresses.

All for sixpence a week. But then again we had it tough... (Monty Python reference)_

Seriously though its a good tool, but what about a separate visualisation tool that you can link to and use the bodies stock code to select it.  That way either more caveats of not every part choice may be available on the specific body could be built in.

This is great! It really helps to see how the fretboard and body would look together and to be able to play around with black vs chrome hardware, etc.

As a full time dev, I totally understand, but jeez you're probably doing it mostly by yourself and that is quite the undertaking.

Definitely not doing it myself. We have some very talented devs here at Warmoth working on it, plus an outside team we have hired to some of the heavier lifting.

I hope you are backing up every now and then. This seems like the perfect context for a disk crash to liven up things a bit. Would allow you to have the odd seizure between heart attacks.

Oooooh!  :icon_thumright:

This is interesting for me, as I'm building my own web based visual builder for a lark in my spare time. Being a web dev, I'm building it in HTML [Hyper Text Markup Language], CSS [Cascading Style Sheets] and SVG [Scalable Vector Graphics] with images for wood grain only - no JS [JavaScript] if I can, to keep it as small as possible and to give myself a challenge... Creating the artwork for various components in Illustrator for their vector lines is gonna be fun - especially when I have to create the artwork for the likes of a Floyd Rose...

My reason was mainly for learning curve on SVG manipulation for my own education and I though I may as well do something functionally useful.

One thing I knew before I started, was the amount of options for various components that would be required and while I could just stack layers of transparent images of every option and toggle their views, that means a huge amount of images to be loading - something I wanted to avoid, as my version is intended to be tiny, meaning fast to load and of course mobile friendly too - Responsive Web Design FTW!

At the moment I have a Stratocaster with basic options that are working. More will be added soon and when ready I'll share the link if there's any interest [especially for constructive criticism / feedback to improve things].

Note: this is NOT competition for Warmoth by any stretch of the imagination!  :laughing7:

Gonna play around with the Warmoth one now for research... Hope I don't get the urge to start a new build as I can't afford to at the moment!  :sad1:

Sounds like an interesting project, Frown. looking forward to your link when it's ready.

Yes, me too. As a fellow dev, I'd be happy to offer advice/testing/etc.

FYI, just added the visualizer to a bunch of new bodies: Nomad, Mooncaster, Regal, Soloist, Jazzmaster®, Diamondback, and VIP.

Excellent news.  :icon_thumright:
Now I'm keeping my fingers crossed in the hope that we'll see it on the Jaguar and Mustang.

Noice!  Beware that visualizing "Any Tremolo" teles renders only fixed bridges.  :rock-on:

Yep, by design. We may add trems in there at some point.

Tying the logic in the Visualizer to the logic of the actual showcase is not possible, so the choices you get in the former won't always be appropriate.

In other words:

I'm doing the best I can cap'n, and she barrrely holdin' togetherrr.

It's cool Bro, just don't end up like the Ensign in the red shirt!  :icon_jokercolor:

Liking the new tools on Warmoth site Aaron - keep it up!

Will start a new thread for my Virtual Guitar Builder project.  :icon_thumright:

Looking forward to printing up a P Bass with full J p/u's in a Red Flake Finish with Red Pearloid flickplate & black hardware.

How soon before P Bass is up?
