Gonna go out on a limb and say yellow pine. Check out the Janka scale. Not exotic. Redwood was a good clue.
LMAO...'you went out on a limb"... :laughing11:

Apparently they stopped roasting before it turned completely to ash.

Hmm. Could've given my dear departed mother some cooking tips...

Ooooooo I want one with a super thin oil finish.

Those look like they got some serious gloss on them, not my cup of tea.

I'm with ya on that..just not into gloss finishes anymore... :guitarplayer2:

Satin finish roasted ash soloist body, roasted all maple, no inlay neck. Black hipshot hard tail, a pair of SD blackouts and some black sperzels. Yeah baby. :bananaguitar:

Maybe the next exotic wood will be Dogwood??

Speaking of noses... roasted Maple smells like Maple syrup. Wonder what roasted Dogwood would smell like? And speaking of raunchy odors, any woodworkers here ever get a hunk of Red Oak that when cut, smells like a skunk's armpit?
