I had this neck installed 20 years ago and I never saw if the new Warmoth had a metal plate for the micro-tilt screw to operate against. Do Warmoth vintage modern compound radius, which fit correctly to a 3 bolt body, have something other than wood for the micro tilt screw to push against?

They are not supplied with the hardware you have to source that yourself.

The easiest way for you to check is to unscrew the neck and look to see whether whoever fitted your neck to your guitar had fitted the required part.

The part you need is the following. If you search for that, you should be able to find a reseller in your country/area.

Fender Upper Neck Micro Tilt Disk USA 0020220049

I would assume someone installed it.

The mico-tilt insert is required to mount the neck. The three "bolts" on a 3-bolt neck are actually two wood screws and a machine bolt -- the neck insert is tapped for the machine bolt, the bolt won't screw in without it. The body insert is tapped for the worm screw for the micro-tilt operation (but I prefer a shim on my '79).
