I think some Zebra pickups would look good in that and if using rings also in black to match the hardware.
Good Call, I think you're right !!I think some Zebra pickups would look good in that and if using rings also in black to match the hardware.
That's actually an interesting idea, I don't have anything with EMG's so that would be something new to try. I wonder if there would be room in the cavity for the battery ? It is on the smaller side.EMG 58 (P90 voicing in a Humbucker housing)
Oh man, I do like that ! What site did you order them from ?I just acquired one of these red tint speed knobs for my 7/8.

It looked more black and red in the online shop but I still like it.
I think it would fit.
Thanks !I got them from a local shop called banzai music, cos originally I only wanted to buy telly top hat switch caps and save the shipping cost
Then I saw those guys.
I got them here and they have them as "hat knob" versions, too.
Also found them at Allparts but they seem to be sold out.
Just google for "red tint" or "red tinted" speed knobs.![]()
Yes indeed. Passed out of my possession for a couple years when I hit a bumpy financial patch; later, when I was flush, she came up on eBay and I scooped her back up.As I recall that is Quety Pie
Wow, very cool !Yes indeed. Passed out of my possession for a couple years when I hit a bumpy financial patch; later, when I was flush, she came up on eBay and I scooped her back up.
Well they aren’t Wilde L-90’s but they are pickups. Finally a little cool down and lower humidity so I can get back to the finishing after my third redux. The humidity was killing me, so I just gave up temporarily. Mama always said, 'the most important part of wood finishing is Patience'.....
Got the Sanding Sealer sprayed last night and ready for the first 3 coats of Nitro tonight. Looking good so far.
Decided on the pickups and got those in over the weekend. After @TonyFlyingSquirrel mentioned EMG's, it got me thinking since I have never done any active pickups. When researching I saw their Retro Active series that sounded very intriguing, sounds like a good way to get into active pickups. I decided on the Jim Root Daemonum set, and took @stratamania advice and got the Zebras. Got some black metal rings, a black elctroscoket jack, and black toggle also. Still undecided on the knobs. Weather looks good for the next couple days, so hopefully I can make some headway !
Sorry @Spud, I'll use some Bill Lawrence Wilde pickups on another build.......

Thanks, it was a lot of 'massaging' the dye for sure. It's been a nightmare with all this heat and humidity, having to start over 3 times, but I think I see the light at the end of the tunnel now. My Wife said I should name it Voodoo Burst, because there's a curse on it.....That thing looks absolutely breathtaking! Seriously! I have remind myself to breath while looking at those pics!
That subtile purple hue at the perimeter!![]()
