Meadowhawk Inferno Burst build thread

Finally a little cool down and lower humidity so I can get back to the finishing after my third redux. The humidity was killing me, so I just gave up temporarily. Mama always said, 'the most important part of wood finishing is Patience'..... :)

Got the Sanding Sealer sprayed last night and ready for the first 3 coats of Nitro tonight. Looking good so far.

Decided on the pickups and got those in over the weekend. After @TonyFlyingSquirrel mentioned EMG's, it got me thinking since I have never done any active pickups. When researching I saw their Retro Active series that sounded very intriguing, sounds like a good way to get into active pickups. I decided on the Jim Root Daemonum set, and took @stratamania advice and got the Zebras. Got some black metal rings, a black elctroscoket jack, and black toggle also. Still undecided on the knobs. Weather looks good for the next couple days, so hopefully I can make some headway !

Sorry @Spud, I'll use some Bill Lawrence Wilde pickups on another build.......

Well they aren’t Wilde L-90’s but they are pickups.

Finally a nice cool front and lower humidity, so I got 2 good days in this weekend. Level sanded after 9 coats with 800 Assilex, then got 3 more coats of nitro on. Should be able to finish up tonight and tomorrow for the final 6 coats. Everything is looking great so far.

I used the blue mixol tinted nitro for the back and neck shaft, trying to get it just dark enough to still see the grain. Pretty happy with it.

That thing looks absolutely breathtaking! Seriously! I have remind myself to breath while looking at those pics! 😳

That subtile purple hue at the perimeter! 💜
Thanks, it was a lot of 'massaging' the dye for sure. It's been a nightmare with all this heat and humidity, having to start over 3 times, but I think I see the light at the end of the tunnel now. My Wife said I should name it Voodoo Burst, because there's a curse on it.....

You massage your guitars?!!! I just give em a quick face rub and call it good. You are dedicated Hagwood!
