Mahogany/Black Korina?

starting a warmoth soon and have to wait till the body i want comes in stock, basically chambered mahogany with contured heel etc but while i was waiting i found a black korina body to the spec that i want and i'm tempted to go for that instead, i'm going for seymour duncan JB in bridge, Jazz in neck and probably a GFS neovin single coil in the middle.
Making a strat with a maple neck, just wondering what people think would sound best.
I play mostly old rock and blues with a bit of metal but i'm no shreader, prefer thick beefy sound and thus my favorite guitar sound wise is a gibson sg.
I play stuff like AC/DC, Led Zepplin, Bon Jovi, Van Halen, Metallica, Megadeth, Iron Maiden, Rory Gallagher and Gary Moore to name a few, so i'll shut up now and wait to hear what you think

Yes! Was there a question in there? Anyhow go for it. Korina is good stuff. GFS Neovin, the worst single coils I've tried. Not horrible, but there are so many great pickups out there.

Why are you waiting for the body to come into stock?  Are you waiting for one like you want to pop up in the showcase, or is Warmoth out of Mahogany?

waiting for in come on showcase and actually just realised that the korina isn't exactly what i want, doesn't have chamber and contoured heel
and yes their is a question lol, which is would suit me better mahogany or korina, since you've brought it up, what pickup would be a good middle considering
i have the two seymour duncans going in neck and bridge

i'm still prefering the mahogany seems to have more of a punch to it then the korina but it could too bright with maple neck

Mahogany for a warmer, lower mid tone, think Les Paul.

Korina for more of a center mid, balanced tone.

SD Cool Rails for the middle.  :icon_thumright:

thanks for explaining it to me, thats the sound i'm looking for, i'll go for mahogany, plus i'm having a friend paint the body for me so it will be easier for him
to paint it compared to korina
