Like this Soloist pickguard?

As usual, I'll go against the grain and give it a thumbs up. Reminds me of the Charvel Spectrum:

There was this lame guitarist who thought they looked okay (his was the Jackson version):

Ahhh, still don't like it. Looks like dog vomit. Always been of the opinion that soloist should never ever have a pickguard.

I think its safe to say if Warmoth makes this pickguard, we will all drive to the State that Warmoth is in and Stab  some faces with wooden pencils.

Don't test us.

Cagey has an impressive array of office supplies.

DON'T DO IT MAN.

It looks like a bad attempt at copying a Squier '51.

The only pickguard I think looks good on a Soloist is your typical modded Strat shape. Even then, it's not great.

All the others "quoted" have some sort of balancing extension down towards, or even over, the control area. That might be suited for a top route soloist, if there is such a thing, so you could use concentric, Bournes or other short-shaft potentiometers. Or cram some batteries in there... What is the purpose of this one?

I'm going to have to go with a "no" on that one.
While it is reminiscent of the Charvel, it just doesn't get there.
Just another opinion...

Um...not really? The '51-style Charvel and Kramer ones are cool, but as stubby said, they're more balanced. The truncated look of this one just doesn't quite work.

I'm going to agree with the disagreers on this one .... don't like it.

Perhaps if it was a Strat-shaped pickguard ... but then why not just build a 7/8 Strat?

Wow, now I feel bad. That picture is one of the Warmoth guy's guitars that he just put together and he digs it. Now I've subjected him to massive criticism...my bad. Sorry dude!  :toothy11:

hey man, whatever works for him. I don't think we all agree on one single guitar ever!  :headbang1:

Those maple tops sound better with Van Halen stripes anyway. Or Zakk Wylde's tonal improvement: get drunk and nail a bunch of beer bottlecaps on it.

(still waiting for that signature model...) :laughing3:

Personally I think ANY option is a good one to have. Someone will like it. Besides, you can NEVER have too many options.

I think I'd like a pickguard that covers the entire face of the guitar. Something flashy. Not sure why, but I'd think it'd be cool.  :dontknow:

I didn't comment because I liked it and the raging pigeon brigade was in full force posting here.  I'd like it better in matte instead of gloss, sure, but I'm a nutjob for that.

I've seen a bunch of those (living in Québec, one sees a lot of Godin products), but it never occured to me that that was a pickguard. Oops.

Keep in mind that this is the same guy that owns and gigs a Day-Glo Pink Soloist as well.....

The reason behind the pickguard was to cover a middle pickup rout on a pre-routed body.........I dig it though..... reminds me of the Jeff Beck soloist pictured earlier in the thread.....
