Levy's has free straps ... I think

For some reason I assumed "Levy's Leathers" was connected to the similar named jeans company when I bought the MSS2-BLU.

I have a couple of Levy’s straps. My favorite mass produced straps. Mostly I use Moody straps, which were handmade boutique when I got them. I believe the company has grown a bit since then.

I’ve seen these straps that are pretty high in price and couldn’t justify it. They’re probably worth what they cost, but I have $8.99 EB straps on all five of my guitars. I used to be into saxophones and they have pretty hefty priced strap's too.

That’s where I’m at. They arrived yesterday, I’m leaving them unopened for now. Just prior to delivery I got an email from them saying this was their mistake and they want me to keep it as a token of goodwill.

I honestly thought this was some sort of warehouse clearing / PR thing. I’ve offered to return them, haven’t gotten a response back quite yet.

@Levysleathers if ya want your straps back just LMK!

Honestly, this was our error, so it’s our bad.

Anything shipped prior to us finding the issue is totally fair game and we want you to keep and enjoy those straps!

I will say, I’m glad we caught it fairly quickly haha.

I just thought of something ... I hope, if some one from Warmoth goes to NAMM they can say Howdy to the good people at Levy's. I wish I could go ...

And on another note, and probably cost prohibitive, but a strap with a couple of the fret board turtles swimming up the front would look cool. $30 plus $6.00 shipping? That would be doable, at least for me. I could guarantee at least one sale.

I hope you mean $30 on top of the cost of the strap itself. You can't seriously mean $30 for a custom strap. The stock Levy's straps I have purchased run in the $60-$80 range. And, I have a bunch of them . When they are not on my guitars, I like to rub them on my face (@Spud).

I'm no strap manufacturer ... but I was thinking about something like this ...

you could have the background be like the ocean from the great wave of kanagawa, and then swimming up the strap would be the Warmoth turtles. I have poly straps (without suede on the back) and on light guitars they work pretty good. Suede on the back would be even better ... I have no idea about costs ... I was just dreaming and what I as a poverty stricken musician would be able to pay. Just a dream .... I am good at spending other people's money.

I actually do have that koi strap, along with a few more of their graphic fabric straps. I selected them based on the theme of the guitar they're going on.

I can now add a fourth Levy's strap to the recommendation list ...
1)MSS2 Garment Leather Strap (Comfy, good for standing a long time)
2)MPJG '60's Sun Polyester Strap Sun Images (Classic pattern, leather backing helps keep guitar in place)
3)PM44T01 Acorn/Oak Embossed Strap with Foam Padding (Good for sitting, classy and beautiful. Leather feels nice!)
4)MPD2 Koi Fish (excellent with a light guitar, the smoothness of the backing let's you move it around)

All of them, in their own way are really good looking. Get one of each, or their equivalent in a color that matches / complements your guitar. (thanks for idea Ned)

I ordered it, because this thread here made me look through what Levy's is offering. And from looking at pictures, I thought that the burgundy MSS2 might be a closer match to my purpleheart guitar, than the black-purple Richter strap I was using until now.

Man, was I right:
