Large Compressor, Small Spray Gun Ok?

My friend has one of those turbine air sources.  It is noisy, but works well.  He generally uses General Finishes urethanes for the furniture and floor work that he does with it.  I did my five string with his gun, and it was easy.  I think his gun was a Preval, but it has been a year, so I can't remember.  Very nice set up.  I imagine yours will be a great asset for your wood working endevors.

Those higher horsepower compressors generally require three phase power to get the power and still balance the motor.  Single phase motors of that size will shake themselves to pieces when you get the HP up there.  Of course most houses don't have three phase power either...
