How did you get the explorer-shape in kisekae, though, CrackedPepper?

To be honest, I thought it might have been difficult for Warmoth to work a thin slab of burled male into an explorer body size?  :icon_scratch:

I understood burled maple to be a bit fragile to work with and getting one that size might be hard to source and work with.

Bookmatch it.  It only has to be half that size.

STDC: The image of the spalted piece used for the background is actually bookmatched you just can't easily see it.  If you look closely, you can see the line between the #3 and #4 ferrules.  The section I used for the background isn't particularly well matched and I didn't have the energy to properly scale it to make it just right. 

OzziePete:  That is my understanding as well but I'd sure like to see them give it a try.

I am currently scratch building an explorer out of mahogany, very similar to that but mahogany, treated about 3 years ago and jsut left it (trust me it was hard) and now it looks beautiful, even better than Spalt i would say!
