doesn't look terribly dissimilar from the evh wolfgang / ebmm axis
Please smack yourself in the head like this , I think your eyes are crooked....The Charvel Surfcaster is an almost exact copy of the Jazzmaster...

looks like a meld of the two.  i like both individually, less so together.  kinda like rage against the machine & soundgarden but not so much audioslave.

I feel stupid for asking this, but why will the M/J replacement necks not work on a 7/8, if a 7/8 neck sorks on the M/Js? (Or is it one of those "you're no supposed to 'cause fender would kill us if you did . . . but we won't tell if you won't" situations?)

mmm . . . not sure about that, actually. sure, it is only a 3/4 inch difference, but in a shortening effect, not a lengthening effect (like putting a 24 3/4 warhead on a Jag). Instead you are putting a 24 on something that is built for an extra 3/4. Perhaps this makes a difference. Just saw that on the first page, someone (can't recall who) suggested putting a warhead on a jag, but warned against the opposite. I was just curious if anyone more knowledgable than myself might confirm or debunk this one, as having a Strat headstock on a 7/8 would be pretty cool. (Even though technically we aren't supposed to do that.)

The 7/8 necks are 24 3/4 scale, but with 24 frets, which also changes the geometry. The extra 3/4" would have the bridge move toward the back, but the the extra two frets or so (not sure the exact difference in overhang) will move it toward the front.
