Hey folks,

We just played a big festival here in town.  It was a lot of fun and we did very well.

There was a camera crew there throwing footage on big screen TVs.  For a small sum of cash, I got them to record us (they were recording other folks as well).  Later after we got home, the video production people phoned and said

"errr - check that DVD - there might not be sound on it"

Sure enough - the footage of the band is GREAT!  lots of camera angles, lots of great cuts, and we looked like stars.  But no audio.  not a scrap.

They refunded the money.  I'll post a clip in a bit (I'm in meetings all morning).

From my experience, playing festivals is always very hit and miss. I remember once I played a fairly big festival where you would expect a decent crew.. All through the set I was shouting to the stage manager that I couldn't hear myself in the monitor and it got worse and worse. Turned out that the monitor mixer was confused and was turning up the other guitarists guitar in my monitor. I mean how unprofessional can you get ?
Nice one on getting your money back but it sucks to have the carrot dangled so sweetly only to turn out to be a mute carrot.

If you've got a studio recording of the tunes and an NLE video editior you can slice and dice it into a music vid.

Hokay,  I threw on the album version of the audio - but the sync sucks.  we're playing faster on the record than we did live.
