The key to this project is the giant laser, which was invented by the noted Cambridge physicist, Dr. Parsons.  So therefore, it is fitting to call it: "The Alan Parsons Project."

I couldn't help it.

Don't expect too much from Hannah for a bit, sources tell me (Hannah tells me) she is on a little trip.

She probably went away in hopes that by the time she
gets back this thread is actually talkin' 'bout TELECASTERS!! :toothy10:

I am a very patient sort.  Good things take time.

Yeah, I'm kind of in Italy right now.  I'll get on it when I get back next week.

It's awesome here.  We're at Lake Como right now.  We're going to go visit the Stradivarius museum in Cremona on Thursday!

Would love to go to Italy, mostly to visit Ferrari factory and the Ducati factory. And maybe see the leaning tower of Pissa, and the Colosseum. :guitarplayer2:

im so jealous

Okay I'm back in CA now.  We had an amazing time, stayed in Venice, Milan, and Como.  We did a LOT in 2 weeks, and ate tons of gelato.

We saw a lot more Amati and Stradivarius instruments than we thought we would in Cremona because some guy with a big collection had loaned it to the museum for a limited time.  We even saw an Antonio Stradivari guitar (one of two left in the world, I believe).  So that was pretty awesome.  They had a huge collection of his luthiery tools and shaping forms, even diagrams that he drew for constructing the instruments.  I bought a book about the "Cremonese" violin building method that explains the whole process in great detail, almost like a text book manual for the luthiery school there.  It is very old-school, no power tools are involved at all.  The finishing section is pretty interesting.

But anyways, I am severely jet-lagged, but I'll start drawing up some ideas as soon as I can.  Get back to you tomorrow or tonight!

Okay Trevor, I've got some ideas for you.  Let me know if any of them strike you or if I should keep playing around.  I'm still thinking about necks.

Koa on Walnut:

Carved top birdseye on BK.  Would also look nice in brown to clear burst or amber dye.

And if you want to get crazy, turquoise dyed zebra on mahogany, like that Les Paul from the blog a while ago.  It might look really cool on a carved top.

Hannaugh, the Koa on Walnut is incredible. I'm a big fan of Walnut. I hope he goes with that one  :icon_thumright: Great selection of candies there. I think the LP picture just gave me GAS for an LP with p90s and a flat top. But in that color. With that wood. drool.

That turquoise zebra LP always sticks in my mind because it is so pretty, yet so unusual.  It's a great look, I think.

I agree, that's a great look. Especially with the carved top.

This. One.

Please explore further.

It sadly needs to be a flat top for the bender.  And a traditional 3 barrel bridge with trad pickups.  Other than that....
