ok here's the deal.  We all know that Hannaugh has designed excellent examples of several guitars.

Except for the best of all: the Telecaster.

As some of you may now, I'm a fan of telecasters.  I have several and they are all great.  But I'm curious if the bar could be raised in some way that I cannot currently conceive of.  So I'm asking.

Ok Hannaugh.  Knowing what you know of me and the music that I play, design me an excellent example of the breed.

Thank yew,

Mayfly.

Wow, okay!  Sounds like a lot of fun... but I'll be sad that I don't get to keep it. :laughing7:

Do you have anything in mind that you want or a direction that you want to go (is this another bender?), and anything you definitely don't want, or do you just want me to come up with some ideas and see where it goes?

Also, I don't have a ton of free time just at the moment as I'm in the process of moving, packing up work for the year at the school I where I teach, and I'm going to be out of the country the first two weeks of June.  But I'll probably come up with ideas anyways because that's way more fun than unpacking boxes.  :icon_thumright:

I know an idea for a Hannah Tele, but that's for Hannah's tele! Unless she scrapped the idea I'm thinking about....

Hannah, I really want to see your take on an Alphonse Mucha-ish green Absinthe Tele.  :blob7:

I really want to do two art nouveau Telecasters - one would be based on the old absinthe ads, and the other would have an Alphonse Mucha-inspired profile portrait either burned or laser-etched on the back.  The Mucha one is at the top of my build list.  When I get around to building a Tele, that will be the it.  The only problem with that one is trying to find copper hardware.    I could go with brass if I couldn't find everything in copper, but I really want copper.

May-be ask Doug  :dontknow:

BTW ... your 3rd GOTM isn't in your signature yet.
I wanna see it in there  :icon_thumright:

Double bound copper telecaster. Double bound Lake Placid Blue telecaster. Make it double bound. Tonar finish. Can't go wrong with that!

Schaller does a finish they call "vintage copper" that's sorta interesting...

... but good luck finding them. You'd probably have to contact Schaller direct.

:icon_scratch:  Wouldn't a true copper, dis-colour / tarnish or go green-ish over time  :dontknow: .... Softer too

:icon_scratch:  May-be need to get all the parts / hardware anodised in a copper finish / colour.

Can you recommend anyone Cagey  :icon_jokercolor:

Dear Hannaugh,

Don't worry about time lines.  I'm the patient sort.

It will have a bender

It has to look splashy on stage and has to fit the basic parameters of a telecaster.  Other than that, I'm good.

Interesting ideas so far...

Nice!! I have been thinking about a Jugendstil/Art Nouveau inspired strat for years now, and also a Art Deco inspired Tele!!
