What do you guys like to use?

I'm personally a big fan A-frames and have been using the Ultimate GS-50.  I like the lack of neck stress, the easy access and the portability. The only downside so far has been that it doesn't work well on acoustics.

I personally prefer the GS-100 - type of stands for security reasons on stage!
For home use the GS-50 is great (unless you have little kids or dogs or giant rats or whatever..), but on stage i'd constantly be looking at it if someone just bumped into my guitar i guess.. ;)

I have a plain old 3-legged guitar stand and a curved corner rack that holds 5.  Also all the rooms in my house have 4 corners.  :)

When I play live, everything is on a 3-in-1 "tree" stand.

At home, all my instruments are on wall hangers, off the floor, and away from my dog's tail!

i cant trust A stands. what if a slight breezze rolls by? THEN WHAT? a broken guitar is what.

+1!

It freaks me out too much that a guitar can get knocked over.  Absolutely stupid guitar stand design IMO.

I use this stand:

They're a lot more stable than people give them credit for.  I've tried both types and didn't find the upright ones that much less prone to get knocked over.  Off to the side or next to the amp it isn't going anywhere that the uprights wouldn't.  However, If you put it in the middle of a high traffic area then it didn't belong there in the first place.

That's the exact stand I have.  I've had it since the day after I got my first guitar.  My other stand is this:

It looks awesome in a corner of your living room if you have enough axes to fill it up.  :)

+1 for the Rockstands.   Love those in my house.   For stage, my fav is the Hercules....pricey, but they work great!

People rave about those on the various forums.  I checked one out at GC a few months ago, pricey but looked pretty solid.

Good to hear about the Rockstands though.  I've been considering a multi-rack or wall hangers.  I'd think the hangers would be the least safe, but I can't say I have any home experience with them.

so heres a safety meter (safest to scariest)

:icon_thumright: Rockstands

:) Hercules Stands

:-\ A frames

:sad1: Wall hangers

 the drummer.

I don't have any problems with wall hangers... but I've had more than one stage accident with those A frame stands. Right now I exclusively use either a multirack rockstand or string swing wall hangers.

The safest way to use wall hangers is (obviously) make sure they're screwed into wall studs.  As most home builders put the studs 16" on center, you can have a hanger on every stud on the wall, and have plenty of room between the guitars ... unless you've got a doubleneck or two  :icon_scratch:
But if wall studs aren't an option, the butterfly wall anchors work just as well.
