Maybe I'm dyslexic. It's like finally learning the correct words to a song you've sung your entire life. I need a cup of coffee.

Like, "Excuse me while I kiss this guy,"  or, "The girl with colitis goes by?"

Or "And Jo Jo's always on my my my mind....." I thought for 30+ years that Paul McCartney kept singing about JoJo (was a man who thought he was a loner....) for some odd reason.
Now I find out my V isn't that special after all. My life was changed today.

the blue strat is pretty! I like the pickup covers!

Thanks man! That was my very first attempt at a refin.  At some point, that guitar is going to get a Warmoth maple/maple neck.

76 Reissue Flying V purchased in 76.

This statement confuses me.  Isn't it just a '76?

I'm glad you said that. For all of these years I thought that Gibson didn't make a flying V from the late 60's to 1976 and thought 76 was a "reissue". Apparently not. !967 was a reissue. Maybe I'm dyslexic. It's like finally learning the correct words to a song you've sung your entire life. I need a cup of coffee.

If you bought your V new in 1976, it was possibly a Limited Edition model made for the US Bicentennial...Firebirds and Explorers, I think, also were runout in limited editions at that time.

Check your serial number against the info on the webpage I have linked.

Hey, Andreas, at the very least, you've  got a Warmoth :tard:

I love all your guitars but that's the prettiest Les Paul Standard I've ever seen. It sounds great too.  :occasion14:

There are so many fantastic guitars in this thread! Norwegian Guy, I love your guitars and the awesome photo.

Here are mine:

Top: Warmoth LPS, chambered mahogany body, wenge/ebony neck. Warmoth Tele, swamp ash body, canary neck. Gibson ES-335, Warmoth Tele, chambered swamp ash body, rosewood neck. Gibson SG Classic.

Bottom: Warmoth 32" scale J bass, alder body, canary/pau ferro neck. $100 fretless guitar. CIJ Fender Strat '62 reissue. Epiphone Thunderbird (soon to be replaced by my next Warmoth build).

on the question which ones I play the most, can't aswer that question :) it depends on my mood, on what I want to hear, the vibe, what tones I need. For example, the blue les paul is my 'neil zaza' guitar, the purplemist is my 'paul gilbert/santana' guitar, the fireburst and singlepiece flametop are for michael schenker (and classic rock, UFO), the tobaccoburst is, ofcourse, slash, the purple naked girl-guitar is my 'scorpions' guitar, but also metallica, megadeth, the heavier stuff (though robben ford goes extremely well too, those bill lawrence pickups are awesome!). the koa with kahler works for everything, just as the purpleheart-top les paul and the padouk-top les paul. the 1 piece quilt tigereye finish (great guitar, love it to death!) works magic in the raunchy rock 'n roll, like leslie west, gary moore, schenker (again), zz top... the green les paul is my 'greeny'; slim neck (well, its the same neck as on a 59 reissue...), slim frets, soft, moderate output pickups. that screams 'vintage Lp tone!', and it does. it oozes vintage in all its juicyness. the walnut les paul and the koa-without-kahler are for my heavy metal-needs, like alter bridge, but also winger and savatage. I tried a new tuning yesterday, regular in E, but the low e downtuned to C (works quite OK, actually) to play 'karma', by Winger, and the walnut stayed super-tight, no flabbyness whatsoever. and it only had a .50 for the low e.

The gibsons are there for nostalgic reasons, though the custom does get some playtime. the studio less and less, don't know why, cause when I play it, I like the guitar a lot. but it doesn't have the 'magic' she used to have, 4 years ago.

the crimson hollowbody is the sl*t of the gang. the gets used for everything, and she's getting banged up like crazy. My girlfriend tripped (I suppose) and knocked a guitar (my custom!) over, and that guitar came to a rest at the crimson. 2 out of 6 toggles were broken. and to rip out the toggles (through the holes...), fix the wiring with new toggles and pull them in again, nah, too much work. besides, all the wiring was useless. I now have a treblebleed on the volume and that works much, much better. I filled 5 out of 6 holes (the 6th was bigger than the rest, so I'll need another wooden plug to fix that) and colored the plugs with colored shellac. it blends ok with the top, the scars aren't that supernoticable. Anyway, the pickups are motherbuckers, and let me tell you, this guitar, the hollowbody, is the quietest guitar I have! it squeels only when I want it to, no ... annoying...SOUNDS! (sorry, thats my 'gru' moment, anybody remember 'despicable me'?) when I stand in front of my engl special edition stack, it squeels less than any other. not that my warmoths squeel so much, but they do more than this guitar. strange, I suppose, but it works. The motherbuckers sound really great in this guitar, but maybe thats because of the treblebleed and 1 megaohm volume and tonepots :P

anyway, thats the story. enjoy!
